Commercial Finance Consultancy Limited offers a commercial banking advisory service, based in Edinburgh. The concept was established to allow clients with issues around their banking and having an experienced banker on their side of the negotiating table. By having this level of experience on the client’s side, it is hoped that the appropriate funding and security is structured appropriately to the business.

From past experiences, many clients have entered banking products which have left them slightly confused, as the product is not what they thought they had bought and are too complex, as the lender has not explained the product, benefit or terms and conditions. Consequently, if the borrower runs into difficulty and the funder is not being wholly co-operative, the borrower has found that the lender has no Duty of Care to them and that the product may have been wholly inappropriate, while very difficult to extract itself.

Malcolm Heggie, the Director, has over 20-year lending experience, gained within two UK lenders, being Bank of Scotland plc and Clydesdale Bank plc. His back-ground covers most of the main sources of commercial/property finance, and additionally, gained restructuring experience while at Clydesdale Bank plc.
